The key to lifelong health and wellness is finding and correcting imbalances in your mind and body. You create many of your problems through negative thinking, poor decision-making and poor dietary choices. Up until now, you've learned a lot about your true self and have been working on resetting your mind to create your ideal weight. Bravo! Now it's time to learn about a healthier way of eating by following The MindBody FX Nutrition Plan.
This is not a diet. Remove the word “diet” from your vocabulary and mind. The MindBody FX Lifestyle has many of the same strategies that you've already used to release excess weight, but it's unique and will mean a new lease on life for you. It's a new way of eating that involves learning more about your body and, ultimately, about what works for YOU and you alone. You'll learn not only the “whats,” but the “whens” and “hows” of eating as well. Discovering how particular foods influence your health is powerful information. This plan is distinctive in many ways.
No weighing and measuring foods
No pre-packaged food
No diet shakes or bars
No carb, fat or protein counting
No calorie counting
No constant weigh-ins
No feeling deprived
Tasty and nutritious foods that help you achieve and maintain
your ideal weight
It's time to reset your beliefs around food and your old eating habits and incorporate new healthier ones into your life. Because people naturally want to find anything they've lost, which includes weight, the main focus in this plan is not weight loss…it's to create and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Getting back to a natural state of balance, health, and vitality will help you achieve and maintain your ideal weight permanently.
In previous chapters, you learned how the power of your mind can cause you to become and stay overweight. There are also physiological triggers, such as metabolic imbalances and inappropriate food choices. A metabolic imbalance is a set of symptoms relating to a specific system in the body; these symptoms show that this system is out of balance, so it can't function properly. Metabolic imbalances that contribute to excessive body fat include low thyroid function, poor digestion, low blood sugar, yeast-like fungus, inability to deal with stress, and food allergies and intolerances. Inappropriate food choices vary from person to person, but generally include highly processed foods, trans fats, and refined and artificial sugars.
It's important to realize that we're bio-chemically unique. Just as we have different exterior appearances, we're different inside as well. There's no one else exactly like you, so what works for you may not work for someone else. The ability to assimilate nutrients varies from person to person.
